Kv2 Audio EX10's... We've extended our Kv2 Audio speaker range with a pair of EX10 active full range speakers. Developed to give consistent frequency response, with a peak output of 129dB and a tiny footprint, these boxes are ideal for conferences, parties and bands without a room full of speakers! "The clarity of these are just amazing, we used just one pair to cover a conference for 150 people with ease, plus, as the event took place in Amman, Jordan we saved a fortune on the cost of shipping which we could pass on to our client. If we had used a conventional passive system we would of potentially needed four speakers and heavy amps, instead we had a small box weighing about 50kgs. Perfect!"
During January we found the ups and downs of the wireless revolution in Spain...
Wi Fi is now a common and expected facility in many hotels across Europe, enabling guests to log on to check email easily (and for free it would seem on the continent!), and for business persons to log on to their VPN's. However, what effect does this have on the ever increasing amount of RF bouncing around in most venues? During a recent event for Hart Wilcox/Motorola in Hotel Beatrix, Marbella we found out... The contractor installing the Wi Fi network in the hotel had a series of problems getting reception in the main conference suite, and the result was that they had to install transmitters to cover problematic RF interference on channel 69. This meant that many of the frequencies required by UHF radio microphones had a large amount of interference themselves, causing a quite a bit of head scratching and frequency plotting! On the Plus side, we tested out our new wireless control of the Mackie TT24 console, which we are pleased to report, worked faultlessly. By connecting one PC directly to the TT24 using the standard USB set-up, and then using XP's remote desktop program over an ad-hoc PC to PC network via wireless LAN, we were able to access every function of the mixer from a laptop up to 50 metres away. This enabled the engineer to sit in the front row to EQ the system and fill speakers, without having to keep running back to the desk after evaluating the sound.
