J&E Awards 2009
For the 3rd consecutive year, Reece Productions provided J&E Training of Basildon with their annual awards and fashion show at the Towngate Theatre.
Building on the success of previous years and continuing to work to J&E’s on brand guidelines, this year saw RP providing a bespoke multi-screen system.
Much of the content of this show is photographs of award entries – many in portrait orientation. In previous years, these particular parts of the show don’t display well in a standard 16:9 projection format. We decided to produce a multi-screen look ‘creating a video backdrop’, whilst retaining a widescreen box for DVD, Powerpoint and live camera alongside a portrait box for pictures. To realise this, we had two custom screen manufactured and flew them in front of a white gauze. We were then able to project over this with just one XP100 from front of house, utilising the DUAL PIP functions of our TvOne CZ-7100.
The Final effect was excellent, with some superb line-upwork from A/V tech Phill Power!
As with previous years the event consisted of gala dinner, two sets of fashion collections showing student work and an awards ceremony, all wrapped up by a party with a live DJ. The multi-screen system worked perfectly, allowing logo’s & live camera to be displayed simultaneously for the collections and retaining interest during dinner, with both entry photo’s and sponsors branding displayed.
In conclusion, the sum of the effect was far in excess of the ‘budget conscious’ cost of such a range of equipment.
